ជើងកប
[cəəŋ kɑɑp]
site of a disaster / catastrophe, crash site; spot esp. along a river or stream where someone was drowned (these places are much feared); aura of danger surrounding some spot; to be (very) dangerous (describing places where accidents frequently happen)
Eg. មាត់ទ្វារកំពតជើងកបណាស់ មានភ្លូកឡានរៀងរាល់ឆ្នាំ: The entrance to Kampot is very dangerous; there are automobile accidents there every year. -
យកជើងកប
[yɔɔ kɑɑ cəəŋ kɑɑp]
to be dangerous (refers to places in which misfortunes constantly occur)
Eg. កំពង់នេះយកជើងកបរាល់ឆ្នាំ: This river bank is where each year some disaster occurs (e.g. a drowning, crocodile attack, etc.)
