[piʔtʰii crat preah neaŋkoal]
Ceremony of the Sacred Furrow (It was held on the 4th day of the waning moon in the lunar month of Visakh on a field near the royal palace in Phnom Penh. The royal Brahman priests, បាគូ , prepared a sacred rice field with statues of Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, Ganesha and Preah Komchay placed around the perimeter. The king or his substitute plowed one of the three furrows with one of three separate plows each pulled by a yoke of oxen; after this, a royal princess planted seed in the furrows. Finally, offerings of rice, corn, soybeans, sesame. grass, water, and wine were presented on silver plates to the two oxen which pulled the royal plow; the kind of harvest in the coming farming season was determined based on which offerings the oxen chose. If the wine was chosen it was a particularly bad omen.) CHECK
